Armenia’s national carrier FlyOne Armenia has agreed to take delivery of two Airbus A321neo aircraft, in a deal signed during French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Yerevan on 5 May 2026. The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony attended by both President Macron and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as part of a broader package of Armenia–France bilateral agreements.

The A321neo is the current-generation narrowbody from Airbus, carrying up to 220 passengers with a range of around 7,400 kilometres. It burns roughly 20 percent less fuel than the earlier-generation A321 it replaces, which has a direct effect on route economics. For travelers, lower operating costs on aircraft of this class typically mean more competitive fares and the ability to sustain services to destinations that smaller jets cannot reach profitably.

FlyOne Armenia has grown fast since launching services from Zvartnots International Airport in October 2021. The airline already operates direct routes to Vienna, Milan Bergamo, and London Luton — the last of those launching on 12 June 2026 — alongside connections within the CIS and to the Middle East. The A321neo acquisition gives the carrier the fleet to push further into European trunk routes where aircraft size and fuel efficiency determine whether a schedule survives beyond the summer season.

The deal marks the first direct Airbus order placed by an Armenian airline, and was signed as part of growing commercial ties between France and Armenia. Delivery timelines have not been announced.
