FLYONE ARMENIA, Armenia’s flag carrier, launched twice-weekly direct service between Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan on 12 June 2026. Flights operate on Mondays and Fridays and cover the route in approximately three hours and twenty minutes, making it one of the faster connections between the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

Before the route launched, travellers between the two cities typically had to connect via Moscow or Istanbul, adding hours to each leg. The nonstop service is a meaningful improvement for visitors and the Armenian diaspora in Kazakhstan, and for travellers using Yerevan as a gateway city who want to continue into Central Asia — or vice versa.

Yerevan in summer is a strong destination. The Cascade complex and Vernissage market are at their liveliest, and long daylight hours suit excursions to Garni temple, Geghard monastery and Lake Sevan. Those planning a broader Armenia circuit can use our two-week Armenia itinerary as a base.

The Yerevan–Almaty route launched on the same day as Wizz Air’s first-ever direct London Luton–Yerevan service. Together the two new services represented Armenia’s largest single day of route additions in recent memory, strengthening the capital’s position as a regional aviation hub between Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

FLYONE ARMENIA fares on the route are competitively priced. Bookings are available on the FLYONE website and through major online travel agencies. For current entry requirements, see our visa requirements and entry to Armenia page.
