FlyOne Armenia Triples Vienna–Yerevan Service to Three Weekly Flights
FlyOne Armenia has more than tripled its Vienna–Yerevan service, expanding from the once-weekly schedule that launched on 3 April 2026 to three flights per week as of June. Flights depart Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport at 15:40 and arrive in Vienna at 17:30 the same afternoon; return services leave Vienna (VIE) at 18:30 and land back in Yerevan at 23:50. The route is operated by an Airbus A320.
The frequency increase reflects strong demand from Armenian diaspora communities in Austria and from the growing European leisure market discovering the South Caucasus. Armenia has been one of the more talked-about short-break destinations in 2026, propelled by a combination of affordable prices, a thriving restaurant and café culture in Yerevan, and easy access to remarkable medieval monasteries within a day’s drive of the capital.
The Vienna expansion comes alongside a broader lift in Armenia’s international connections this month. Wizz Air launched its first-ever direct London Luton–Yerevan service on 12 June, and FLYONE ARMENIA began Yerevan–Almaty flights on the same date. Together, these additions mean that Armenia now has new or expanded direct links from five European and Central Asian cities compared with the start of 2025.
Travellers should note that Armenia’s temporary visa-free arrangement for 113 nationalities closed on 1 July 2026. Those not covered by standard bilateral visa-free agreements will need to apply for an Armenian e-visa in advance — the process is online and the fee modest. See our Armenia visa requirements guide for full details.
For those weighing whether to visit, the flights to Armenia page summarises all current direct routes by region, and the Vienna frequency increase makes Austria a viable hub for onward connections from across Western Europe.
